Managing Player Safety in the Heat
When it’s too hot, training can lead to cramps, heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
Temperature is above 90 degrees at practice time, please cancel training.
You can meet in a shaded area to talk as a team, but no physical training.
Temperature is between 85 and 90 degrees:
Do not train more than 1 hour.
Take hydration breaks during training. One 4-minute break per 15 minutes.
Ask players to bring an extra water bottle.
Bring a sun shade or tent if you have it.
Small rags/towels soaked in ice-water are very effective at cooling the kids down very quickly during breaks.
