PACIFIC PALISADES REGION 69: 16U BOYS TEAM NEWS

Welcome to Region 69 Upper Division play. At this time there is only one UD team in our region: PP 16U Boys. Our roster limit is 22. Training will probably begin Labor Day week. First games will begin the weekend of September 16th.

The training evening has not been assigned. Anticipate a 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. slot at Palisades Charter High School football field. Jeremy Weitz has volunteered to coach your team. Assistant coaches are welcome and should have at least "intermediate" coaching certification. There is a coaching course offered in Beverly Hills in August. Check it out:

UD matches are played against teams from other regions, including Santa Monica, West Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, Culver City, South Los Angeles, L A Central, Hollywood, Watts and Los Feliz. Some matches will be at Pali High. Some will be elsewhere, such as Airport Park in Santa Monica, Culver City High School, Kenneth Hahn Park, Fairfax High School, Markham Middle School in Watts and Riverside Park in Los Feliz.

Most matches are played on Sundays. Some are played on Saturdays. One or two weekends you'll have matches on both days. These are 80-minute games. Match officials (hopefully) will be
the most experienced, such as those with Advanced or National certification. Fair warning: these games can be a bit rough.

The season is a short one. "Friendly" matches occur in September. The season begins on October 1st and ends the weekend of November 4th. Playoffs begin the weekend of November 11th. Being in the Upper Division means that your play must end before the high school season begins, which means by Thanksgiving.

Upper Division rosters are "locked" on September 30th. No players may be added after that date. All players must have photo ID cards. Anticipate your picture being taken during training evenings in September.
